on to the NEW year

Ok, so I am pretty much ready for the Holiday’s to be over. I don’t mean to sound crabby…but let’s move on. I’m just ready for life to be back to “normal”. I am amazed at how time flies. This time last year I was pregnant, wondering if I would ever be “normal” again. Well, a baby and a year later, I can tell you that my old “normal” is nothing like my new “normal”. My new life is much more full. I’ll admit, I do miss the times when we truly had nothing to do except sit together and watch TV. Now when we get a chance to do nothing, we miss our little reason for all the business!! Tonight Joey is at a BB tournament, and Jaxon went to bed early. I have enjoyed my alone time, but I really miss my boys.
I’m not really into New Year’s Resolutions. I have, however made myself a list of things to strive for. Here are a few off my long list…

*try to fly
*try one new recipe a week (one that I already have in my very large collection)
*be content
*read more
*encourage
*$pend less $$$/$ave $$$
*laugh often
*have balance
*simplify
*grow in all ways (except my body!)
*be healthy
*get fit (lose the last of the baby flab)
*be more like the Proverbs 31 Woman
*pray more
*Fully Rely On God
*give more
*have fun

I hope you all will take time to make a list of things to strive for in 2006.
I’ll leave you with one of the latest Pictures of Jaxon. He is now crawling ALL over the house!!

Jaxon's First Christmas

We had a blast watching Jaxon “open” his gift’s & getting to play Santa for the first time. He was starting to get the hang of it, once we were about done. He was so funny. He has started shaking his head up and down when he likes something…needless to say, we’ve seen a lot of head bobbing the last few days!!
We have been so blessed this past year. Christmas was no exception. I was so thankful for the time we got to spend with our families.
I just want to say that I have an AMAZING husband. And no, not just because of what you’re about to see. I just love this man so much. He is so good to me, and loves me unconditionally. I am so thankful for him, but do not feel worthy.
So…he TOTALLY surprised me yesterday. I am not easy to surprise, but I had NO IDEA about this. Joey had already bought my gift for me before Thanksgiving and I have been enjoying my new dishes every day. Well..when we were done opening gifts, he grabbed Jaxon and put a red bag in front of me. I instantly started crying. Well, I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking! I ABSOLUTELY love it!! Like they say….Every kiss begins with Kay!! Thank you sweetie!!

So… it’s back to work for me tomorrow. I am actually ready for the “break”. ha! ha! Joey will be home with Jax, so that makes us all happy!! I truly hope you all had a wonderful Holiday weekend.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!! / sick baby…AGAIN!!

My sister and I used to always make a big deal about Christmas Eve Eve. Well…at least it was funny back then! She called me today to remind me what today was………I won’t type it again!!! I hope you all had a Great Christmas Eve Eve!!

Ok, So much to catch you up on!! First of all, We were supposed to be at Joey’s Parents today and tomorrow. Carla, my Mother in law has Pneumonia. The Dr.’s office called her yesterday afternoon and said that she needed to be at the hospital this morning to be admitted for antibiotics. So…we had to move Christmas with the Winn’s up. Last night was my work Christmas party, so I was sad I didn’t get to go to that, but family comes first. It was a whirlwind trip. Finding out we needed the be there asap, leaving work early, loading the car, packing Jaxon, driving 1 1/2 hrs there in traffic, spending about 2 hours there, then driving home!! Wow!! However, we really did have a great time. We did not want to leave, we were enjoying the company so much. Jaxon, of course was spoiled, and had fun taking it all in.

This morning we decided to venture to the mall…just for fun! We are done with shopping, it was just a leisure trip. Are we crazy or what?? It actually wasn’t that bad. We got there about 9:30 and it wasn’t getting bad until we were leaving about 10:30. Then we went to Toys R Us. It’s wasn’t too bad either. We’ve been looking for a stuffed Elmo for Jaxon. The only one they had left was HUGE!! It is bigger than Jax. Jax loved him the minute he laid his eyes on him.

This afternoon, Jaxon started showing signs of not feeling well. He threw up all over Joey – so that was our first sign! (Poor Jax & Joey!!) I tried to get him to sleep, and we was just moaning and would wake up screaming. It was so sad. He’s never acted quite like that before. So, I called Dr. Hedlund. I was reluctant, being that it is the Friday before Christmas. They were SO nice, and worked us in. I’m so thankful for that, because Jaxon has a double ear infection…AGAIN! I feel so bad for him. I hate it when he’s in pain. With the medicine, he should be feeling somewhat better by Christmas. I sure hope so.

Christmas with the Conley's / bedtime issues

Tonight we went over to the Conley’s for our Christmas together. We have been best friends with them for almost 6 years. Joey and Jason met while working at UPS. They introduced Renee & I and we quickly became very close. I just think it is so special that our best buds are also our best couple buds. It makes things so fun!!
We had a lot of fun tonight. We had mexican food for dinner (Renee cooked & it was yummy!). It was great to watch the kids open their presents. Tonight was the first official presents Jaxon has had to open. Renee helped him & he had fun playing with his new toys.
As you will see in the pictures below…Isabelle is officially a princess now!! She is so funny & adorable!! Of course Renee & I had to try on the princess gear! Actually Isabelle made the boys try it on too, but my life would be in danger if I were to post those pictures!

Now on to our bedtime issues:
From about 12 weeks, Jaxon has slept through the night. Of course we’d have our bad nights, but for the most part it’s been wonderful. Well…Since his last sick episode (over a month ago), we’ve had issues. He likes to wake up several times during the night. I won’t go into all of it because it would take way too long. In addition, we’ve been trying to get him to go to sleep independently. So, tonight was the first try with that(doing it the way supernanny, and most of the books suggest). (We’re not sure how we fell about him crying it out yet – so we’ll just have to see. I borrowed The No Cry Sleep Solution from Renee).
Ok, so back to the story…He was doing pretty well, not crying, just not asleep. We waited a few minutes and then Joey went to check on him & this is what he found…
Jaxon had pulled himself up using the bumper and the bed. This was a first for us. He was so happy that we had come back to see what he had done!! He had also thrown his passy out of the bed, of course it was between the bed and the wall. He just thinks he’s so funny!!

Feel free to comment on the sleep issues. I’m open for suggestions.

Seven years & counting

Today is our 7th anniversary!! Somedays it feels like just last week, and in some it feels much longer. I am more in love today than ever. I am so happy and so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, and now daddy to our child. I hope you have a good day Joey & Happy Annivesary!

And He's Off!!

It’s Official, Jaxon is now crawling. My little 8lb newborn baby is not so little anymore. I am so happy that he is healthy, growing(very well – now 20lbs.!) and learning every day. I have to admit that I got a little emotional today. It is all going so fast. I can only imagine all the great things God has in store for our little man. Here are some other fun pictures from today. I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Check out the size of those hands!!

A Special Day

Today has been a great day. I had the day off (very rare for a Thursday), so Renee & I decided to have a girls day. Our kids were at Sonshine School and we had 4 hours together!! In lieu of buying each other gifts this year, we just made the most of our day together. We started out about 9:45. We pulled up in my driveway at the same time from dropping the kids off. We went to Starbucks and then to get a mani/pedi!! A much needed mani/pedi, by the way! Next we went to lunch at the neatest little cafe. Nikkellette’s is the name of it. It was so good! We split crab dip & a pecan chicken salad. The best part was the ribbon cake with strawberries!! AMAZING!! We decided we have to get that cake for my B-day in March. After lunch we ran to the mall, but we didn’t have much time. Then it was back to pick up the kiddies. I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful best friend. I just love that we know each other so well. Thank you Renee for always being there. I’m so happy to have you in my life!

Enjoying the mani/pedi!

It was a LITTLE windy today!

Tonight was great too. Joey didn’t have BB practice, so he was home at 4:00. We ate dinner at 5:30, and then we played with Jaxon.
Jaxon tried so hard to get his shoes off this afternoon. When he finally succeded, he was so excited. He’s so funny!!

It’s back to work tomorrow, so I better go get some rest. Have a good Friday!

busy, busy

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve posted. That is totally not like me! Things have been busy around here, so busy I don’t even really know what we’ve been busy with. Oh Well! I was off work today! As with most of my days off, I got nothing done that I needed to. I always have BIG goals for my Wednesdays, but I usually end up running around, or sitting around. Today was a run-around day. Jaxon had a Dr.’s appt. at 10:20. It was a check up for his ear infection. He’s all better!!! Then, we went to see Joey at work, went to get gas and a car wash, went to the bank, then home for about 45 min. Jaxon had a picture appt. at 2:20. His pictures turned out so good! After the pics we walked to the other side of the mall to go to Children’s Place, then to The Limited. We found NO Christmas pajamas for little Jax. I’m so bummed. I found a pair of pants though, so that was fun! Then we rushed home to spend a little time with Joey before he had to leave for his Master’s class. Ok, so writing all that made me tired.
I cooked a chicken in the crock pot today, and made chicken & dumpling’s for dinner. Renee, Isabelle & my sister Stacey came over for dinner! It was yummy!!
Jaxon is ALMOST crawling. He’s so close! He gets frustrated with it though. I’m not wanting to rush it. I know my days of being able to leave him to play alone for a few minutes are numbered. I can’t believe how much I love this little guy. It just amazes me every day. He turned 8 months old on Sunday. It is going by way too fast.
I am so happy that Joey is done with Basketball for a few weeks. He will be home when I get home, and that makes me happy. Jaxon & I have missed him so much lately. I know January-March will be double crazy, but at least we have a little break!
I know I am totally rambling on here, so I will stop and post a few pictures of the last few days.
Joey & Jaxon watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Jaxon was glued to the TV.

So Close!!!

A stolen moment!! Isabelle & Jaxon just love each other so much!
Just Jaxon!

Morning Play

Jaxon slept peacefully ALL NIGHT!! He has been sleeping through the night since he was 12 weeks old, but he has been sick for about 3 weeks. When he is sick, sleeping is not so good! Last night was wonderful. When Joey and I woke up, we couldn’t believe it was 6:45 and Jaxon was still in his bed!! Let’s just hope I’m not jinxing tonight!!
Well, since we had some great sleep, Jaxon and I had some good playtime this morning. Here are some pictures. His daddy will be so proud, he had 1 dunk!!! Jaxon started clapping yesterday!! He is so much fun!! Have a wonderful Friday!
