GO OU!

I’m going to wait on the sister post until later in the week. I know I will get emotional & I don’t want to start that on a Monday morning!!!

Yesterday was a great family day. We drove to Norman to go to church with Joey’s sister, Shannon & her family. It was great to see them & we’ve decided we need to do it more often. We were sad we didn’t get to visit very long.
After church, we changed clothes in the truck, drove through McD’s & headed to the OU Women’s BB game vs. Nebraska. We won!!! The women have clenched the Big 12 Championship, so there were all the festevities afterward. It was also senior day & we are friends with one of the seniors, Laura Andrews. It was a great game to go to!! Jaxon had fun too, he actually follows the ball. He’s only been to 30 BB games since he was born, so he’s pretty used to the noise. He slept for about an hour during the game. Everyone around us couldn’t believe that he was sleeping with all the noise.
Ok, enough rambling… here are some pictures of the day!

I love my sister-in-law!!

Jax & Joey

The Fam – don’t you love it when close up pictures make you look HUGE!!! I sure do!

coach Sherri Coale with the net!!

Jaxon has decided he wants to be a baller!!! Joey is so happy!

SPF & other stuff – long post!

Today’s theme from Kristine is Bedside Manner.

* your nightstand/drawer

Our nightstands are pretty simple. I like them ok, but I would like to have some with drawers, although I’m sure they would end up very cluttered! The alarm clock, remotes, linen spray, ponytail holders & a Paci currently reside on the table!
* a good book you’ve read

The true & outstanding adventures of the Hunt sisters. It is the most recent book that I’ve finished. I’m pretty bad at starting a new book before finishing the current one, oh well!
* your favorite lamp

I added the fringe to this lamp to make it more fun!
Bonus Pic: * my favorite light source

I love candles of all kinds, but nothing beats a the look of a ton of candles burning at once!

**Let me know if you played SPF!!

Today, as I was leaving the store, I picked up a box of these wonderfully yummy cookies!!! I’m so excited. I haven’t opened them yet because I know once I do, it’s all over!! They will be gone by the end of the weekend. That is why I only bought one box! They are Joey’s favorite too, but we’ll just have to share this year.

So, earlier I told you that Jaxon was supposed to have tubes put in his ears next Wednesday. Besides the current infection he was diagnosed with yesterday, we are having insurance issues. I HATE insurance. You get totally backed into a corner with these people. You have to have the coverage for the big things, but then they get to choose what they will or will not cover without you really knowing it. Of course you are made to feel stupid when they say “Mrs. Winn, it is stated clearly in the insurance manual…”. Ok, whatever!! Who actually reads ALL THE FINE PRINT?? Not me, but I will be from here on out. I am just mad at how vague they are…. Ugh!! Ok, so it is a really long story, but here’s the jest of it:
*Jaxon was on my group coverage
*It was too expensive, so I switched him to his own individual plan 2-1-06
*unbeknownst to me, when you change from group to individual coverage, basically EVERYTHING you were treated for previously is under a Pre-Existing clause, in which the insurance company is not obligated to pay for any claims regarding those conditions for a full year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s right including ear infections for 10 month old babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today I talked to the agent for my group coverage & he is helping me to get something worked out. So, no tubes next week. Hopefully it won’t be too long. I don’t know how many more of these infections we can handle.

My little sister is moving to Cali. I am happy for her, but sad at the same time. She came over last night for a quick photo shoot before she leaves. I will post those tomorrow! I hope you’ve all had a great Friday!

Much more to come!

This has been such a fast, crazy week. I will fill you in tonight! I am off to work right now & Jaxon has yet another ear infection! He was supposed to have tubes put in next Wednesday, but not now. There is so much more I want to show you & tell you….but I’ll hae to wait till tonight. Be prepared for long post!! I’ll leave you with a few pictures to make your Friday more enjoyable!!

Aren’t I cute?

Jax & me being lazy

all tuckered out!

For those of you who have asked, I will post some pics of the house once it is all put back together. I will keep you posted on the progress…we still have a lot to do…I’m not too excited about trying to paint with a baby at my feet!!

It’s amazing to see a photo and to remember the moment like it was last week, then to realize it was a year ago. It’s so hard to believe how much my life has changed since this time last year. I found the picture of me, one year ago yesterday at one of my baby showers. (My belly was huge, but thanks to the minimizing black, it’s hard to tell.

Here is a picture of me yesterday.

Wow! What a difference a year makes.

Yesterday afternoon we were watching a movie in the living room when we heard a lot of noise outside. It sounded like a bunch of birds right outside our door. I looked out and found that the bird convention was being held in our trees.

For some reason, I have always been kinda freaked out by these conventions as I like to call them. It’s not so bad when I am safe inside my house, but when I am in the car and they are in the trees above, I start to feel threatened. I feel like they are conspiring against us, or maybe trying to protect us. I always wonder what they are talking about, what they are planning, who is the leader of the group, which ones are backtalking the leader? Ok, so I may be wierd, but it’s kind of like the nails on the chalkboard thing, it just really gets to me. While on the topic of things that wierd me out, here’s another strange fact about me. Whenever we’re watching the news and a picture someone that has been arrested comes on the screen, I have to turn away. I feel like their eyes are focused on me & they’re coming after me, or they are going to get mad that I am starring at them. Am I a total wierdo or does anyone else have these or other quirky wierd facts??
Ok, I’m going to bed now….

yes, we're still alive!

We are alive. This week has flown by. I don’t even know where to begin… Joey took his HS BB team to the State tournament. They were the defending State Champions from last year!! They lost Thursday night by one point in overtime, with 3 seconds left on the clock. Man that stinks!! But at least they went out fighting!!!
Jaxon has been sick with allergies/cold. It was like 70 here on Tuesday and today the high was 17!! Crazy!!!!! It snowed & iced last night. Jaxon liked all the white this morning. Joey and I have been working on updates around the house. Remember not to long ago we had a little design remix. Well, we are doing it again. I know we are crazy and addicted to improving our house that hardly anyone see’s. But…we do! Today we…cleared out the living room (except for the furniture), moved our room around to make more space & to improve the viewing of the tv from the bed(we watch Blue’s Clue’s in there in the morning’s!), flipped Jaxon’s room & the guest room, got rid of the guest room (sorry mom & dad, but you can still stay here!!!), created a MUCH NEEDED PLAY ROOM/study(the living room looks so huge again!), and got rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff. We still need to finish decorating & there is still SOOOO much more I want to do. We are by no means finished, but we have made great strides toward the new, improved Winn home!!

And for fun…here is an example of Jaxon’s possible age progression:

Jaxon: Current age, 10 Months

Jaxon: Age progression, 50 Years

Jaxon: Age progression, 80 Years

Man, don’t you hate it when you get out of the bath and you have snot all down your face?

Meg & Me

I found these pictures of Megan& I the other day, while going through old pictures. I am proud to say that I think we have both made it through this stage.

This was taken before we went shopping one saturday when I was home from college. Joey came home with me that weekend, but declined the shopping trip. Megan was driving us in her Mom’s van. While on Cooper st. in Arlington, some idiot ran a red light and hit us. Meg got burned by the airbag & it blew her glasses off. After a trip to the Er in an Ambulance, neckbraces, cuts, scrapes and a really messed up van, overall we were ok, but man what a day! I can’t even remember if we made it to the mall or not, but, I’ll never forget that day. (at least we had some cool sandals!)
This was at my HS graduation!
Prom. Wow.
All I can say is:Thank goodness for eyebrow waxing!!! Shouldn’t someone have told me about visiting a tanning booth? Yeah, I thought so.
Thanks for all the memories Meg. Joey wants me to thank you for the “hi my name is joe” song. It’s pretty much his favorite!!

Playing Catch Up

This is a fun little time-waster, If you have time! I am a snickers, what is says is pretty true (most of the time)! I could so go for a snickers right now!! Yum.

Snickers

Nutty and gooey – you always satisfy.

I am sorry to my faithful readers (all 5 of you!) that I have been absent this week. I have been somewhat busy, but really just not that into the computer this week. Trying to spend more time with my boys.

Today was FILLED with furniture shopping. We came home with an empty truck. We did find a few things, but we were smart and not impulsive. However, we may go back tomorrow to get the new couches. Who knows?!?
We did get some stuff my the kitchen. Joey is going to start working on the new counter tops tomorrow (I think?) We are debating if we are gonig to paint the walls or not…

My baby is 10 Months old today!!
He is so funny. He has learned that if he does something funny, he gets attention from strangers & he REALLY likes that! He starts laughing & clapping. It definately brings a smile to your face!

We called my Mom today, who has been in the hospital since Tuesday with an infection in her leg. She fell last night, on the same leg. There are no “real” rooms at the hospital due to the Flu “epidemic” in Ft.Worth. So, she is in a short stay room. I didn’t know that 5 days was considered a “short stay”! Anyhow, we called so that she could hear Jax laughing and making the noises he makes with his lips. She loved getting to hear him!

Ok, well I think that gets us pretty caught up. I may post pictures of the kitchen tomorrow, so that you all can help me decide if we should paint, and if so, what color!!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!
