Yummy!!!

I’ve made two amazing recipes in the last few days… Here they are – you should really make them!!!

The first is from Jody @ Nitty Gritty . I made this Spaghetti Pie for dinner tonight. I think I’ll be making this for a long while to come!! It was so good – I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow!!

For a little Memorial Day dessert I made this Strawberry Shortcake. It was so yummy & looks so pretty too!

Enjoy!! Hope your Tuesday was a good one!!

A Picture Post

well, blogger isnt’ being very cooperative – Imagine that!! So, this will be a short post. Here are a few shots of JAx & his first steps. They are true action shots. He is almost a pro now! Also, a cute one of Jax with each of us. JAxon got his second hair cut on Saturday. Joey did a great job. We were just getting too many mullett comments! He looks like a big boy now!! First the big boy poop, now the big boy haircut!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Holiday!!!

goodbye 05-06

We’ve officially made it! Through the school year that is. I can’t tell you how happy I am. Joey just completed his second year as Principal at the private Christian school he works at. Because it is a small private school, he wore MANY hats! He was the ms/hs principal, athletic director, head girls BB coach, AP English teacher, Junior bible teacher… He also coached his fifth season with the OC women’s team as an assistant, not to mention helping me raise a new baby & he had me to put up with.
JOEY YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I am so proud of you for making it through this difficult year. Here’s to a healing, relaxing summer!!

In other news… Jaxon is the life of the party around here! He is still doing pretty good with the walking thing. He is VERY dramatic (I have NO IDEA who he got that from!!), and he eats A TON – seriously!

We went swimming today at my former boss’ house. They are at their lake house & invited us to use their house & pool. Jason, Renee & Isabelle joined us. We had a great time. I think Renee and I got a little too much sun, hopefully it will just turn into a tan!

Joey is going to the Senior PGA Tournament Final round tomorrow. It is at Oak Tree here in Edmond. He is so excited.

That’s about all the catching up I have for now. Oh yeah – My parent’s anniversary is tomorrow! Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Jaxon started walking tonight!!!!! I’m so happy that Joey and I were both home & in the room to see him take off. I’ve been so worried that we wouldn’t get to see him start, but we did!!! It’s about time! He’s been walking holding on since about 9-10 months, so…I’m so happy. He walks like a zombie with his arms straight out! I’ll try to post pics/video tomorrow!

Hope you’re having a good day!

Amazing…

This weekend was amazing. You wanna know what we did? NOTHING!!!!! We totally needed a few days like that. Today I feel refreshed (other than my stupid headache) and so close to my boys. We watched several movies, went to church, ate out (in), and took several naps. Jaxon has always been fun, but he is starting to be hilarious & he knows it! He is seriously a funny kid! He and I played chase around the house all weekend!

Funny story::
On Friday night, we went to eat at Jason’s Deli. When we got home we smelled that Jax had done some business. Little did we know, it was his first “big boy poop” as Joey likes to call it! It was so big that it did NOT stay in the diaper. Oh no, it came out the top! When we removed Jax from his seat, there was a large wet spot on the back of the seat. (pretty high up might I add!)
I proceeded to take his clothes off & when I did two things happened. 1. There was so much poop in this shirt that I flung poop across the room – awesome! 2. When I pulled the shirt over his head, the poop acted as mousse and created a wave in the back of his hair – awesome!

Jaxon and I headed to the bathtub and my “supportive husband of an avid blogger” took it upon himself to get some pictures for me. You can imagine that I was not in the most playful mood during all of this, as I was trying to prevent a very active 13 month old BOY from getting his “big boy” poop ALL OVER THE CARPET that he crawls on!
So…here are the pictures! Unfortunately he didn’t get one of the hair before bathtime, it WAS pretty awesome!!

Here’s the acutal loaded diaper!

The very relieved Jaxon!

The “not so fun” mommy!

The very dirty clothes!

The poop stain on the carpet – don’t worry it’s been cleaned!

The “proud of his son’s first big boy poop” daddy

The clean and happy Jaxon with his life sized George!

Thanks for taking the pictures Joey & more importantly thank you for always pointing out the fun in every situation!! I love you!

OH Jaxon!

Thanks to all of you for the comments on my last post. Things are going well & we are happy! The only bad thing is Joey’s back. IT IS NOT GOOD. June 1st my insurance will be effective & we will get him into the dr., until then PLEASE keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Here are some pictures of Jax this morning. It’s crazy the things that entertain children! He was so content and happy this morning – take a close look at what he’s playing with!!! Oh how he will love these pictures someday!!

I hope you all are having a great week too. I haven’t had a lot of time to read all my regular blogs. Maybe tonight I’ll have some time!

The first day of the rest of my life….

Here’s what I got to play with this morning….. A perfect start to the day!!!

today was good. a little boring, but I know I will like it once I start learning. I got an hour lunch break. I haven’t had one of those in sooo long! I got my laptop. I like it. I can’t wait to learn more! I actually liked wearing a suit! I felt good about myself. Silly, I know…but I’m a girl & that’s important.
the self-photo shoot didn’t go too well.

Here’s the roses Jaxon picked out for me for Mother’s day!

My little family at the Zoo – On Mother’s day. this nice lady offered to take our picture, but her finger was over the flash!

Thanks to all of you for the good luck thoughts & wishes regarding my new job!! (Thanks especially to Logan T. who called me on my way to work this morning!)

a good ending!

Yesterday was a good ending to my week at home! Today has been a nice semi-relaxing day as well!!

Yesterday we went to have lunch with Joey at work. I surprised him with Pepperoni Station (our favorite local pizza place)! It was so good! Then we went to the mall with Renee & Isabelle. It was fun had by all!

Crafty Update:: Ok, so I’m feeling a little better about my projects. No, they are not award winning, but I had fun making them & they are cuter than what you can buy!
This is the Mother’s journal that I made for Renee~

Here is the Recipe book that I made for Renee~

And… here is the first of 5 books that I am making for myself for all my tear-out recipes~

So…that’s it for now. I have spent the evening in total silence – except for the washing machine! Joey had to go to a school play & Jaxon went to bed at 7:00! It’s been wonderful getting to clean my house in peace!! Oh, the things we take for granted, but wouldn’t change at all!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mommies!! I hope your Sunday is special and filled with love!

You either have it or you don't…

Creative talent that is. I have finally come to the sad conclusion that no matter how great the ideas in my head are, I cannot execute them. No ma’am. I’ve tried and tried over the years starting in high school. Making banners for sports…not my thing, In college…making signs for club, not so much. As a homemaker…let’s just say that I should probably stick to buying the stuff I like, instead of trying to make it. A few years ago, Joey and I found this sign we liked for our kitchen at “The Market”, basically a high-end crafters mall. We really liked the sign, but didn’t want to pay the $189.00 they were asking for it! So…we decided we could make it for less than $30.00, and we did! It actually turned out great, almost identical to the original, except for one little detail! After about 3 months of the sign hanging in our dining room, I noticed that something wasn’t quite right. Then it hit me…. OUR sign said “Bon Ape-Tit” instead of “Bon Appetit”. OH MY WORD!!! Had people noticed and not told me? Was I really stupid(and if I was Mr. English major was too!)? Oh well, it is a great memory!!! The sign now lives in our garage. It certainly takes on a different meaning at dinnertime!

So this week I’ve been trying to get the recipe project underway. I’ve been a little indecisive about the whole thing. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. We’ll see how it goes!

Days 2,3 & 4 of this week have not been very productive at all! Well actually Tuesday was productive, just not at home. While Jaxon & Isabelle were at Sonshine School, Renee and I set out to establish my career wardrobe! We did great! I now own 5 yes FIVE suits! I’m not really a suit girl, but starting Monday I will be! I am totally set with complete outfits!! I could not have done it without my fashion guru best friend! She even finished the outfits off with accessories~ Thank you Renee!!

Yesterday about 5:30, Jaxon & I were casually strolling through Hobby Lobby when Jax proceeded to throw up ALL OVER himself & me! At least it didn’t get all over the floor! That would have been the second shopping embarrassment for the day. The first was at walmart where a 60″ beaded necklace got caught around Jaxon’s neck & the cart, so when we pulled on it, it busted all over the check out line. Beads were EVERYWHERE!! Fun stuff! At least Jaxon thought is was cool! Ok, so back to the vomiting…He has since thrown up 7 times and has had a high fever. He is constantly moaning & crying & only wants to be held by me. I feel so bad for him. It has been a trying day – Oh the joys of MOTHERhood! We went to the Dr. today & he has a 12 hour bug, probably contracted by someone at Sonshine School on Tuesday!! He is already feeling some better & should be back to normal tomorrow!!

Well, that’s about all I have for now! Hope you’re all having a great week!!

Here is a picture I took of Jaxon yesterday…pre-sick Jaxon!!

Day One

I was surprisingly productive today. Yes, it was tempting to sit on the couch and do nothing, but I knew in the long run I would have been mad at myself. So…Jax and I left the house at 8:30 to go sign some papers for Chase (I start a week from today!). We went to the grocery store & were there longer than expected and of course spent more $$ than expected, but at least we have food & NO EXCUSE to eat out! Then we came home & I cleaned out/rearranged the laundry room & EVERY kitchen cabinet & drawer. It looks great & feels even better to have some control back of the way my house looks! Now, I am motivated to work on a few other areas tomorrow!

Renee & Isabelle got to come over for a while today. It was good to see them & for the kids to play. Isabelle helped me make some “surprise brownies” for Joey. she was a great helper! Thank you Isabelle!

Off to bed – to rest up for Day Two!
