Thank you Mr. King for being famous and allowing us to have the day off! Because of the weather Joey ended up being home yesterday too! And today. And tomorrow! Lucky (in the voice of Napoleon)!

So yesterday Joey and I totally took advantage of the childcare that we had to pay for if we used it or not! WE had our first (since Jax has been born) Day Date! A day date is a great and inexpensive way to spend time together! Here is a picture of my date:

Such a cutie! We went to Target, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble (my fav), and then Steak & Ale for lunch (so much cheaper than dinner)! After about 3 hours we were feeling guilty and missed Jax so we picked him up just in time for a nap at home.

While he was napping, I finished a VERY over-due project! It was so bad it had to be done in two phases…WAY too much for one day! I really can’t believe I’m going to post pictures of my most troubled area in the house…but here goes!

Yes, it’s freezing cold. Literally. Thursday here in OKC, the high was close to 75 degrees…by yesterday afternoon it was about 25 degrees. I just checked and it is 24 degrees right now! Needless to say, we’re cold even with the heater & our socks on!

We were all home by 1:00 yesterday due to the ice storm. Since we knew we’d be stuck here at least for the next 24 to 36 hours(since the storm is getting worse), we went to Target this morning after breakfast! It was nice to get out even if it was for only 45 minutes round trip!

While at Target, we decided to make the plunge and buy Jax a potty. Wow… not sure I’m ready for that! I know it’s early & I’m not planning to start full-on training, but I thought it would be “fun” for him to start sitting on the potty. For the past few months, he’s been pretty obsessed with the potty, especially when I’m in there! He’s also been telling me when he’s “poo-poo” because he wants me to change his diaper. He’s not a fan of poop in his pants, I can’t blame him there!!

Ok, on to a more pleasant topic. Jaxon has been calling Joey “Buddy” instead of “daddy”…kind of cute & funny!

Update: I started this post Saturday afternoon, it’s now Sunday morning! Church was cancelled today because of the ice storm. It’s still coming down out there. I’m glad I’m off tomorrow for MlK day so that I don’t have to mess with getting out.

Last night Jax was pretty amused by the new potty. Here’s proof!

I went in for a root canal on 12/22 and he finished half of it. Apparently in our Molars, we have 3 canals. I was unaware of this! So, he found & cleared two of my canals that day. He was unable to find the 3rd canal, so they took x-rays and we agreed for me to come back to finish up.

That brings me to today! After being hooked up to the nitrace, getting Novocaine shots in my mouth, and feeling lots of pressure…I wake up from my little snooze to find out that it’s not over. In fact, it’s just beginning!!! He was unable to get into the 3rd canal. While trying to get in there, his file broke off in my gum! That’s right! I have metal stuck in my gums right now. All the Novocaine has definitely worn off & I’m in a little pain. I have to call the Endodontist in the morning to schedule the third shot at the root canal & to remove the file. I know you’re jealous!!!!!

So… That pretty much sums up my day!

We did good on day one of the best life diet. We both weighed this morning, I weighed…wait I’m not dumb!!! I’ll tell you once I’ve lost some of it!

Tonight after Jaxon went to bed I made a quick trip to TJMaxx! It was nice to walk around in the quiet store ALL BY MYSELF. I’d forgotten what that was like! I bought some socks & a cute pair of trendy jeans(hopefully they won’t fit for long).

Well I better get to bed…I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a little crazy!

As usual, I had big plans for the weekend, but of course… I didn’t get much done! I had to work for a few hours on Saturday, and then we played and rested at home. Friday night Joey & I picked up this::

After reading most of the book Friday night, we carefully chose what would be our last meals before “the first day of the rest of our lives”! That’s right!!! WE are going to get this weight off & keep it off! Now that Jaxon is eating real food, it is so important to us that we set a good example for him. I will definitely keep you posted on how we’re doing!

Joey has done more to my kitchen since I last posted, I’ll have to update with pictures!

I have to go to bed since it is 11:45 pm, 6:15 will be here too soon!!

Last week I thought I was ready for things to return to “normal” but as that “normal” schedule is to resume tomorrow, I’m having different thoughts. I’m almost in tears thinking about leaving my Jax in the morning. I’m glad at least for him that he has one more day at home with Joey before we’re all back to “normal”. I’m glad and feel blessed to have taken the time off.
