Our Christmas Story

Click the image to see it better. (can you find Jax in the top left picture?)
As you can see I took a ton of pictures (this dosen’t come close)! Last Friday I took off work early so we could head to Ft. Worth to have Christmas with my parents. My parents left on Christmas day to fly to LA to see my sister. Too bad I couldn’t go! We got home Sunday afternoon (we came home to snow) to rest and get ready for the week. Monday we went to see Alvin & the Chipmunks! I loved it, Jax loved it too! Then it was early to bed for the little boy. It was crazy, but as he was taking a bath we heard santa’s bells outside the bathroom window (my husband is so creative)! That helped speed the routine up a little. We had a LOT of work to do! Next year we’ll start earlier in the week!
Christmas morning was great, it was just the three of us! Jaxon loved everything santa left him & was amazed that he actually ate the cupcake & drank the milk he’d left for him. (As we were making the milk the night before, I asked Jax if he wanted a drink of it before bed and he said “No, that’s for santa”) Santa even wrote Jaxon a note! It was hard for him to open the presents under the tree from us because he didn’t want to stop playing to open them!
After breakfast we headed to Joey’s parents. We were there with his family until about 4:30 then we headed home! While there my sister in law and I made some cute glass magnets! I can’t wait to make more!
Yesterday we cleaned out the old to make room for the new! We told Jaxon that there were many kids that Santa didn’t get to vist & we were going to give them some toys. At first he was not ok with that, but slowly he sarted saying “let’s give this to the kids”. It melted my heart!
I went back to work today and I think the three days of holiday eating caught up with Jax. Joey said he was wound up ALL DAY!

This Christmas was special as are most of them! I hope you had a great Christmas too!

Call me Mrs. Incredible – no not really

Joey & Jax ran into Toys R us on Monday..very briefly. I waited in the truck (I’m no dummy!) They picked this up for me in there! Jax is into the incredibles and I’m Mrs. Incredible to him.
Little did he know at the time, but I would indeed be incredible that day!

I worked in the kitchen ALL afternoon & evening! You know how much I enjoy this and I don’t get to do it often enough…although it is exhausting!

On Christmas Eve I made:
A coconut cream pie
Puppy Chow – which we’ve renamed “Monkey Snacks” (it’s a Jaxon thing)
3 Cheese logs
Veggie Pizza
Cupcakes for santa
I also:
Prepped for Pioneer Woman’s French Breakfast Puffs to make on Christmas Morning…they were yummy!
ran a few errands & finished wrapping presents!

The thing I like best is when my family calls me Mrs. Incredible…

Nine Years

Today we celebrated our ninth anniversary!

Here’s a pic from then and now!

Tonight we went out to dinner and then to B&N. I’m glad we got to get out!
Joey sent me flowers at work today…they are beautiful!

Happy Anniversary to my sweet Joey. Thank you for loving me unconditionally…I love you back!

P is for Productive

This has been a busy weekend. Busy, but good. I did get quite a lot done this weekend! Yesterday I cooked most of the day. We went to the Whitesell’s for dinner. I made homemade baked potato soup, texas cabbage salad, black bean salsa & sopapilla cheesecake. I intended on posting the recipes for you…but I’m too tired right now! If you want them, just let me know!

Today…we went to church, ate lunch, cleaned the house, I wrapped most all of the presents, I made homemade spaghetti sauce (it cooked for five hours…SO good!), ran a few errands, finished and ate dinner, addressed christmas cards, cleaned the kitchen, and now I’m posting!

Here’s a random list about Jaxon…just stuff I want to remember!

*Jaxon has been singing Rudolph all weekend. It’s amazing how much of the song he really knows!
*Today I was up on the fireplace dusting the mantle and Jax yelled “be careful Mommy”..I was glad to know he’s watching out for me!
*Tonight at dinner Jaxon tooted and I said “what do you say?” and he said “no, I say it”…then he said “exkuuuusss meeeee”. He wanted to say it on his own without me reminding him. He is SO just like me…wanting to do things HIS way!
*He is starting to ask a lot of questions!
*He is developing quite the imagination…
Here he is tonight before bed. He was fighting off the bad guy (Joey) with his drill (gun) and screwdrivers (swords).

This was this morning before church. Joey’s boots are steel toed, so they’re pretty heavy, he had a hard time walking in them! I never quite figured out what the “mask” was for!

*Jaxon is incredibly loving. My heart was swelling today with so much Joy from him!
This was tonight. I said “let’s take a picture”, so he grabbed our necks and squeezed as he said “cheese”. Notice the swords!

I had such a blessed weekend….I hope you did too!

Baby, it's cold outside!

It is Saturday morning & it’s snowing. My child keeps trying to run his train over my keyboard saying that it’s the choo choo tracks! I think we’re about to have craft time…he needs some attention! I have some pictures of the week to share, so check back later!

Stay Warm!

Here’s one pic from last Saturday.
We had the 2nd annual “Gregg Girls Christmas Tea”.

This isn’t everyone…but my aunt Clarice, and cousins Amy & Megan

A Day Date

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the big ice storm in OK.

Well, Monday Joey was home and I worked from home for a while, then we realized that we had to pay for Jaxon’s childcare for the day whether we used her or not…so we decied to use her!

We went on a little day-date! It was fun and nice to spend some time together!

We dropped Jax off, went to eat lunch at Abuelos’s, went to barnes & noble, toys R us, then to target! We are officially done w/ our shopping! Now, I just need to finsih wrapping.

I need some elves to come and wrap for me!!!

I had fun on our Day-Date…I wish we could do it more often!

Jaxon's first date

I was going through my posts tonight and I noticed this one was still a draft. I guess I forgot to publish it.
About a month ago, Joey had plans on a friday night, so Jaxon and I went on a date. We went to see Bee Movie….just the two of us! It was SO fun! He was a great little date! Here are a few pics of the night!

In case you couldn’t tell, he was being a stinker and thought it was so funny that he closed his eyes in all the pictures!
