This past week has been so crazy, hence the lack of posting! I’ll just touch on the highlights of the week!
Monday – I was able to play “stay at home mommy” thanks to MLK day! There are a few days of the year it pays to work for a bank! Jax and I played all day & I made an amazing dinner. I love it when I have time to actually make a good dinner for my family!
Glazed Carrots w/ Bacon & Onion (one of my fav’s)
Here’s Jaxon “helping” me – his own recipe…a little of this & that!
Tuesday – A very busy crazy day at work for both of us! Jaxon went #2 on the potty!!!
Wednesday – Another crazy day at work, I actually worked late to catch up a little from Monday.
Thursday – Work, then free babysitting at church. Jaxon went to play and I got to watch Joey’s BB game!
Friday – I worked from home because we had our alarm installed!!! BB homecoming…I had Jaxon and his friend Danny after work. We went to Chick fil-A, then to Mardel before the game.
Saturday – Oil change & car wash, Lunch date w/ my boys, haircut for Jax, home for a nap then we went to the homecoming banquet at Bourbon St. downtown…oh the joys of being a principal’s wife!
So, The biggest accomplishment of the week is that Jaxon is potty trained!!!!! He’s not 100% with #2, but I know he’ll get there.
I have a funny video of Jaxon to post, but it’s not working right now…so check back later!
First of all, I want to say thank you to all of you for your sweet comments, thoughts and prayers over the last few days. I’m starting to feel a little more safe.
Have you ever slept next to or in the same room with someone who snores? I have, and even though the people aren’t actually annoying the snoring is. Snoring is something that can’t be helped while sleeping. Usually the person sleeping has no idea until someone tells them when they are awake.
Well guess what? My husband informed me yesterday that I’ve been snoring for about a week now. WHAT???? I can’t be a snorer! Of course I looked it up online yesterday and snoring is caused by several things but there are two possible causes for my snoring. 1. an obstruction in the nasal cavity 2. weight gain.
I am going to try to get some breathe right strips today to see if Joey can get some sleep tonight! If anyone has any other suggestions…I’m open!
I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that I am staying put. I will not change my blog up right now. I do kind of want to, but it’s just a LOT of work and, I’m not lazy but I just don’t have the time right now to switch everything over.
My blog is very important to me. It is the story of our lives. I am making it into a book for us to have and for Jax to have one day. When I started this blog back in 2005, I didn’t really know that I would keep it for this long or that so many people would be reading it. I love making new friends through blogs. I love that our family and friends can keep up with us. Sometimes I just get worried that there is too much information floating around out there. Those of you that I know are reading are wonderful, but I just wonder who’s reading that shouldn’t be. I know I’m sounding paranoid, but when it comes to my family…I don’t care about anything else!
Thank you for bearing with me the past few days. Thank you for your comments here and on the other blog (which I will be deleting).
Thursday was a scary day. Sometimes you hear about things and think that they will never happen to you. None of us are exempt from the world. This world is wonderful at times but so ugly at times. Thursday our home was broken into.
We are so fortunate that we are all ok. There are so many things about the situation I am thankful for, and I know that God had us in his hands. It could have been a different story. I am completely freaked out. I am dealing with anxiety and fear. I shouldn’t have to deal with these things in my own home, but like I said this world is ugly at times. I do know that God is watching out for us and I appreciate the prayers.
I am not going to go into all the details on here, and I’m sure you understand why. We are on the mend. We got a new front door installed yesterday and are having an alarm system installed. Jax had no clue about the whole thing and for that I am EXTREMELY thankful. We were able to clean up and think of what to tell him before he came home.
I urge you all to be smart and safe. Have a good weekend. Happier posts to come!
You can find me here It is private, I’ll explain why on the new blog. We are ok, but please keep me in your prayers. If you’ve been reading, I’d love for you to follow me. Just send me an email – in my profile, or leave a comment here and I’ll add you!
Thank You!

What can I say…I LOVE this boy!
He makes me smile and laugh every day. He also melts my heart. I love hearing him laugh from his belly, and pray, and say “I love you” out of the blue. I love that he always wants “to play with daddy”. He often says “I want my mommy”. He has quite the imagination. He loves batman, and Scooby Doo, and Veggie tales, Tarzan and Mickey Mouse. He loves to play “Choo choo’s” and “cars”. He tries to do things just like his daddy. He likes to help me in the kitchen. He LOVES chocolate milk. He is stubborn – like me. He is smart. He is difficult at times. He is polite (at least working on it). He is going potty on the big potty. He is wearing big boy underwear. He is very curious. He is compassionate. He likes to play on the computer with his aunt Stacey. He loves apples, he has to have at least one a day. He is independent. He is funny. He knows he is funny. He likes bath time. He likes to cuddle. He likes his softie blanket, it was actually his daddy’s when he was little. He likes to go to church. He likes to play with his friends. He loves his grandparents. He gets excited to go to Target. He knows how to “work the system”. (Today he said he wanted to go get a haircut. A few minutes later I asked him if he still wanted to get a haircut and he said “uh hugh, I want to go see toys”. He remembered that last time he went to get a haircut, his daddy told him that if he was good they would go to Toys R Us to look around. Smart Kid.) He likes to go to the library. He likes books. He loves to wear his daddy’s hat. I love that. I love my boy.

Last night Jax & I went out with Isabelle & Renee(my BFF). It was so fun! We watched the new Veggie Tales movie: It was ok, I’ll probably like it more at home!
After the movie we had dinner and let the kids play in the play area.
Then we finally exchanged our Christmas gifts.
Here are a few pictures! Our attempts at a group shot:
The group shot obviously didn’t happen, but I thought this was too good of them not to crop!

A few years ago I got a burt’s head to toe kit for my birthday. I really liked the products then, but once I ran out, that was it. Well, last year, I decided to try the skincare products…I bought the Soap Bark & Chamomile cleanser, Peach & Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub & the Marshmallow vanishing cream. I was in love. My skin looked great. I also uesd the Beeswax lip balm & the lemon cuticle oil.
Recently I decided to treat myself to an after Christmas gift. I did a little online shopping at burtsbees.com. I’m in love. Instead of listing EVERYthing I’m currently using, I just took a picture.
Not Pictured: (in my drawer at work)

The two soaps are:
Joey likes this one!
This is my morning face wash
Yes, I’m aware I’ve gone a little Burt crazy, but I probably won’t go back. I love that all the products are natural, it makes me feel good about what I’m using on my skin…and I can tell a difference!
My fav’s are: The Soap Bark Cleanser, Garden Tomato Toner (love, love it)…all of it really!
Today I got an email showing all the new items….If I’d only waited two weeks to “treat” myself! There are several new things that I can’t wait to try, namely the new body washes (the Radiance one)! I guess I’ll be showering more often so that I’ll run out faster!
I’ve been thinking…I’m so concerned with what I put on my skin. It’s really important to me that I am not using a lot of chemicals, etc. So why in the world am I not as concerned with what goes IN my body? Good question, right? Hmmm…….more on this to come! For now…go HERE and check it out! By the way…Target, CVS & Walgreens all sell Burts Bees, they just don’t have all of the products available!
Happy Thursday!
