does reading make you sleepy? (and a recipe)

Posted by suzspeaks on November 13th, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized.

I think many of us like to read to relax. If I read in bed, I can usually only make it through a few pages before I am out. Apparently, it runs in the family::

This is what I found last night when I went to check on him! If you’ll notice, he has a little smudge of chocolate on his chin. OK, so I’m not a perfect mother whose kid goes to bed perfectly clean every night..oh well!

Last night I made THE MOST AMAZING BROWNIES EVER!! Seriously, I’ve had this recipe bookmarked for over a year. I found it yesterday and gave it a try. It is SO easy but SO wonderful! YOU have to try them!!

I will never buy a box of brownie mix again…EVER…this is so much better and easier!

Here’s the recipe::

Triple Fudge Brownies

1 chocolate cake mix in a box (I used milk chocolate)

1 pkg instant chocolate pudding mix (small)

1 12oz pkg chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)

2 cups Milk

Directions: Set oven @ 350 degrees. Whisk milk and pudding together. Add in chocolate cake mix (if you don’t have a mega mixer like mine & are using a reg. whisk you may need to switch to a spoon as you continue to add cake) and stir until no lumps/clumps. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased pan and bake for 30 min. or until top springs back. (my oven cooks fast, I only baked for about 23 minutes. I like my brownies a little gooey in the middle though)
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and/or serve with vanilla ice cream

I forgot to sprinkle w/ powdered sugar and they were still amazing!

Enjoy!

    I was so excited to see that you would never buy a box of brownie mix again since we don’t have brownie mix here. And I was all ready to try the recipe since I’m baking brownies for a bake sale tomorrow. And then I read cake mix in the recipe. Such disappointment since we don’t have cake mix here either! I actually have a box or two of chocolate cake mix from the U.S., so I may try this recipe later. Just not for the bake sale. :)

    Umm those do sound good. I will have to give them a try. Brownies are my weakness. Along, with cookies, cakes, real food, and pretty much any other type of food.
